Beyond Titanic, this tour combines the best of Belfast alongside its rich history of entrepreneurship and inventions that it has brought to the world. Not only will you visit St George’s Market, City Hall, Royal Avenue, Albert Clock, the Big Fish, and the Titanic Quarter, but at each stop you will learn the stories behind the inventions that you probably never knew came from Northern Ireland, from streetcars, the electric tramway, portable defibrillator, the modern tractor, to the more tasty creations – such as milk chocolate which was created by Hans Sloane; a Royal physician who went to Jamaica in 1687 and brought back a substance that would lead to a creation that everyone in the world, no matter where they are, can appreciate. No story of invention would be complete without finishing off at the site of the greatest ship ever built – the Titanic Quarter. Yet the spirit of invention is not simply confined to the past, which you will soon discover. Meeting point is directly in front of the statue of Queen Victoria at the front entrance of Belfast City Hall.
